Our Beliefs

We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the divine and final authority for Christian life and faith.

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.

We believe that the Holy Spirit together with God the Father, and God the Son are worshipped and honoured, is the Spirit of Truth and Holiness, convicts men, regenerates the believing sinner, gives spiritual gifts to the believer, unites them together to build up Christ’s Body, the Church

We believe that Jesus Christ is the true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He rose bodily from the dead on the third day, and ascended into heaven. One day He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and to establish His Kingdom without end. The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only those who receive Jesus Christ are saved from sin’s guilt and punishment, free from the power of sin.

We believe that the Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ and called out to be God’s children, manifesting God’s love, and preaching the Good News of the Heavenly Kingdom. Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church, personally instituting the Water Baptism and Holy Communion.

We believe that Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church, will personally return in power and glory. On that Day, all men will be revealed before the judgment seat of Christ, believers resurrected to everlasting blessedness, unbelievers to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment. God will be King forever. Believers must be watchful for the return of the Lord because no one knows the time of the return of Jesus Christ.

Salvation

Our Story

Nordic Chinese Christian Church (NCCC) started as a Chinese immigrant church in Helsinki with sister churches around the Nordic countries.

Over time, a new generation arose—multicultural, multilingual, and passionate about sharing God’s love with people from every nation and background. To answer this call, NCCC Helsinki launched an English Congregation in 2022 alongside the Chinese Congregation.

As the years went by, it became clear that the two congregations carried distinct visions. The Chinese Congregation focused on reaching Chinese immigrants in Helsinki, while the English Congregation was called to embrace people of all cultures and nations.

In June 2025, the church recognized this calling and affirmed the step for the English Congregation to become a new church plant: NCCC International. We are an interdenominational church in Helsinki, rejoicing in the diversity and strength of different Christian traditions, united in Christ.

Our Values

Because the gospel assures us of God’s undeserved and costly, yet unconditional love in Christ, we are freed from behaviour modification and invited into gospel-shaped heart transformation (Gal. 5:22–23; Eph. 4:22–24). Secure in his grace, we learn to look beneath the surface to cultivate self-awareness, vulnerability and to live in the God-given rhythm of rest and work. Receiving God’s love, we are renewed to pour that love into the lives of others.

Because Jesus welcomed us when we were far off, we now welcome others with the same grace (Rom. 15:7). Empowered by the gospel, we extend hospitality across ethnicities, backgrounds and generations. Everyone is broken, yet everyone matters, and everyone is welcomed home.

At the cross, Jesus reconciled us to God and to one another. Empowered by Christ’s reconciling love, we cultivate relationships marked by life-giving words and deeds. In our community we learn not to avoid conflict or let it divide us, but we actively pursue peace (Matt. 5:9). Grounded in Christ, we become people who encourage and work towards reconciliation. In this way learn to love well.

Since Jesus gave himself fully for us, we are freed from fear and self-preservation. The gospel shapes us not to merely consume but to contribute generously, giving our time, talents, and treasure for the sake of others (Acts 20:35). Our generosity is not limited to church gatherings but is lived out in the communities around us. We want to be known as people whose lives point to Jesus, courageously sharing the Good News in deed and word wherever we go.

Our Vision

“Christ-centered church, making disciples of all nations and displaying the glory of God through a loving community.”

You are welcome to come as you are, no matter your background or ethnicity, no matter if you have walked with God for years or if you are seeking something more. We are a multicultural, English church in Helsinki that celebrates the uniqueness of all cultures and we embrace how God created us to be united together as one family in His wonderful church community.
